GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 7th RCCC Buntis Assembly: Investing in Healthy Beginnings By: PMGEN JOSEPH WILSON F LOPEZ Every healthy community begins with healthy families, and every healthy family begins with a healthy mother. For many expectant mothers in the Philippine National Police (PNP) community, pregnancy is experienced alongside the demands of public service. Whether serving in uniform or supporting a police officer at home, they often balance prenatal care with unpredictable schedules, family responsibilities, and the realities of police life. While healthcare is accessible, opportunities for comprehensive maternal education, preventive care, and holistic support are not always readily available. Recognizing this need, the Rotary Club of Camp Crame, in partnership with the PNP Health Service, conducted the 7th Buntis Assembly on July 30, 2026 at the Mangubat Auditorium, PNP General Hospital Health Service. The program brought together 60 expectant mothers composed of PNP personnel and PNP dependents for a day dedicated to maternal wellness. Participants received expert-led prenatal health education, maternal medical services, financial assistancr, and essential baby care items. More than delivering services, the activity created an environment where mothers could engage with healthcare professionals, strengthen their understanding of pregnancy, and make informed decisions for their own health and that of their unborn children. The project's greatest impact lies beyond the event itself. Equipped with knowledge, access to healthcare professionals, and practical resources, participants are better prepared to navigate pregnancy and early parenthood with confidence. By promoting preventive care and informed decision-making, the initiative contributes to healthier mothers, healthier children, and stronger PNP families. Through the 7th Buntis Assembly, the Rotary Club of Camp Crame demonstrated that meaningful service begins long before a child is born. Investing in maternal health is an investment in resilient families, stronger communities, and a future where every child is given the healthiest possible start in life. Rotary Club of Camp Crame
